This is used to mount tapered bore bearing on to a cylindrical shaft with diameter tolerances. To secure the bearing to the shaft, press the withdrawal sleeve into the bearing bore. When using larger bearings, considerable force is required to overcome the friction between the mating surfaces of the bearing and sleeve and of the sleeve and shaft.

These withdrawal sleeves also facilitate secure and easy dismounting by simple pressure on the disassembly nut.
